Xiaomi Confirms 17T Series Launch as Retail Listings Spill the Details
Xiaomi has officially confirmed the global Xiaomi 17T launch date for May 28, with the lineup consisting of the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro. The company is promoting the event as its “biggest T Series upgrade yet,” highlighting a redesigned camera island and Leica-branded imaging system. However, much of the surprise has been undercut by premature retailer listings that surfaced ahead of the event. A Russian retailer briefly published product pages for both devices, complete with official-looking renders, full specification sheets, and prices for multiple storage variants before quickly pulling them down. The leak effectively turns the launch into a formality, as key details such as screen sizes, processors, camera configurations, and battery capacities are already public. Still, Xiaomi is expected to use the stage to explain its Leica camera tuning, software enhancements, and how the new hardware pushes the T-series closer to true flagship territory.

Design, Display and Performance: From Dimensity 8500 Ultra to Dimensity 9500
Based on the leaked listings and earlier reports, both Xiaomi 17T models adopt a flat display and flat back design, with a square triple-camera bump and buttons placed on the right side. The Xiaomi 17T is said to feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED (or OLED) panel with 1268×2756 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, positioning it as a high-refresh mid-flagship display. Under the hood, it reportedly runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The Xiaomi 17T Pro steps up to a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1280×2772 resolution and a 120Hz or potentially 144Hz refresh rate, depending on which leak proves accurate. Performance is a key differentiator: Xiaomi 17T Pro specs include MediaTek’s flagship-grade Dimensity 9500 processor, again with 12GB of RAM and storage options that stretch up to 1TB in some configurations.

Leica-Tuned Triple Cameras Aim to Make the 17T a Photography Upgrade
A major focus of the Xiaomi 17T series is its Leica camera phone credentials. Official teasers confirm that Xiaomi has partnered with Leica on the imaging system and color tuning, while leaks outline nearly identical camera hardware across both models. Each phone reportedly carries a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter in a square rear module. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is tipped to use an upgraded Light Fusion 950 main sensor, which could provide better low-light performance and dynamic range. On the front, both devices are expected to sport a 32MP selfie camera housed in a centered punch-hole cutout. With optical image stabilisation on the telephoto and Leica’s influence on image processing, Xiaomi appears to be pushing the T-series squarely into enthusiast photography territory rather than treating it as a minor refresh.

Battery, Charging and Pricing: 6,500mAh and 7,000mAh Packs Lead the Charge
Battery life and charging speeds look set to be standout features. The Xiaomi 17T is tipped to include a 6,500mAh battery with 67W fast wired charging, already generous for a performance-focused mid-flagship. The Xiaomi 17T Pro goes further, pairing a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, making it a rare 7,000mAh battery smartphone in the premium segment. Retailer listings from Russia suggest the 17T will be sold with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage, priced at RUB 51,625 and RUB 54,537 respectively. The 17T Pro appears in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants at RUB 68,535, RUB 71,222 and RUB 81,861. Separate leaks point to European pricing such as EUR 749 for the 17T (12GB+256GB) and EUR 999 for the 17T Pro (12GB+512GB), indicating Xiaomi is pushing the series closer to full flagship territory.
