Retailer Leak Pre-empts Xiaomi’s May 28 Launch Plans
Xiaomi has already confirmed that its 17T series will debut at a launch event on May 28, promising what it calls the biggest T-series upgrade so far. However, that narrative has been partially upstaged by a premature listing from a Russian retailer, which briefly published product pages for both the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro. The listings exposed nearly every key detail: full specifications, storage configurations, promotional renders, and local pricing. Although they were quickly removed, the information has circulated widely and now offers an unusually complete look at Xiaomi’s next Leica camera phones well before the official reveal. The leak suggests Xiaomi is repositioning the T lineup closer to premium flagships, with higher-end MediaTek Dimensity chips, much larger batteries, and Leica-branded imaging across both models. For many potential buyers, the May 28 event may now serve more to confirm and contextualise these details than to introduce them.

Xiaomi 17T: Dimensity 8500 Ultra, 6.59-inch AMOLED and Leica Triple Camera
According to the retailer listings, the Xiaomi 17T centres on a 6.59‑inch AMOLED display with a 1268×2756 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, aligning with earlier expectations of a 1.5K OLED panel. Power comes from MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The phone is listed with a Leica-branded triple rear camera system: a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide, plus a 32MP selfie camera. A sizeable 6,500mAh battery and 67W fast charging are tipped, suggesting endurance will be a core selling point. Physically, the device reportedly measures 162 × 75 × 8.2mm, with flat front and rear panels and the power and volume keys placed on the right edge, based on leaked renders.

Xiaomi 17T Pro: 17T Pro Dimensity 9500, 144Hz Display and 7,000mAh Battery
The Xiaomi 17T Pro steps up several hardware elements to compete more directly with high-end flagships. It is said to feature a larger 6.83‑inch AMOLED display with 1280×2772 resolution and a refresh rate that may go up to 144Hz, along with support for Dolby Vision, high-frequency PWM dimming and up to 3500 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, the 17T Pro Dimensity 9500 SoC brings MediaTek’s latest flagship performance, again coupled with 12GB of RAM and storage options up to 1TB. The camera hardware mirrors the standard model on paper with a 50MP main, 50MP 5x periscope telephoto and 12MP ultrawide, but leaks mention an upgraded Light Fusion 950 primary sensor on the Pro. A 7,000mAh battery, 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging indicate Xiaomi is prioritising both longevity and rapid top-ups.

Leica Camera Phones and Pricing Signal a Shift Toward Premium
Both Xiaomi 17T models continue the brand’s partnership with Leica, positioning them firmly among the most ambitious Leica camera phones in Xiaomi’s lineup. The square-shaped camera island houses Leica‑tuned optics and a periscope telephoto lens on both devices, which is a notable upgrade for the T series. On the software side, the phones are expected to ship with Android 16 and Xiaomi’s HyperOS, with Xiaomi already hinting at advanced computational photography features. Pricing from the Russian retailer places the Xiaomi 17T at RUB 51,625 for the 256GB variant and RUB 54,537 for the 512GB model, while the 17T Pro ranges from RUB 68,535 to RUB 81,861 depending on storage. Separate leaks suggest the 17T could cost 749 euros and the 17T Pro 999 euros in some markets, and direct conversions indicate a rough USD 700–1,100 (approx. RM3,220–RM5,060) span across the lineup.
