After more than two years of requests, Optimizing Liberty finally fills that gap, transforming how the game runs on a wide range of GPUs. DLSS 4.5, FSR 4, and XeSS 3.0: A Full Upscaling Suite

On PC, Helldivers 2 DLSS 4.5 support headlines a sweeping set of new upscaling options. NVIDIA players gain DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, while AMD users receive FSR 4.0.3 on RDNA 4 and RDNA 3 GPUs, with FSR 3.1.5 as a fallback path for older Radeon cards. Intel Arc owners are covered through XeSS 3.0 support. This is the first time the game offers a comprehensive, vendor-agnostic upscaling line-up. It means almost every modern GPU can trade internal resolution for higher frame rates without dropping overall image clarity. At 4K, where the lack of upscaling had been felt the most, FSR 4 upscaling and DLSS 4.5 can now push performance to levels that were previously possible only by aggressively lowering settings. These tools help inputs feel more immediate during chaotic firefights, especially when frame rates fluctuate. Dynamic Resolution Scaling and Variable Rate Shading arrive on PC as well. DRS adjusts internal resolution on the fly to keep frame times under control, while VRS reduces shading workload in less detailed parts of the image for extra free performance. DRS also comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, giving console players a smoother experience during the heaviest bug breaches. Combined with the new upscalers, these changes effectively act as a multi-GPU support strategy: players can aim for higher frame rates and improved visual quality at the same time instead of choosing one or the other.
