AV Software Platforms Take Center Stage at InfoComm
AV software platforms are increasingly becoming the central nervous system of modern systems, combining AV-over-IP routing, AI-powered AV tools, workflow automation and immersive audio visual controls into unified environments that connect design, deployment and ongoing service. At InfoComm, Visionary, XTEN-AV and Disguise each presented a different angle on this shift, but together they pointed toward the same direction: tightly integrated AV and IT, software-first control, and higher levels of automation. Converged AV-IT networks were present in Visionary’s approach to routing and audio DSP, while XTEN-AV extended automation across the entire AV automation workflow, from proposals to post-install service. Disguise focused on creative production, media control and cross-platform integration that link show design to real-world operations. For integrators, consultants and enterprise teams, these developments hint at a future where software platforms define system capability more than individual hardware boxes.
Visionary’s nexAV We-Cosystem: Converged AV-IT and AV-over-IP Routing
Visionary introduced the nexAV We-Cosystem as a software platform built for converged AV and IT environments, combining AV-over-IP routing and switching, audio DSP processing, room and enterprise control, device discovery, workflow orchestration and user-interface development. According to Visionary, the Flex Architecture DSP framework and integrated Audio Engine sit at the core of nexAV and use template-based DSP workflows that simplify deployment while keeping room for project-specific customization. Native Dante and AES67 support help the Audio Engine fit into networked audio deployments from a single meeting room to campus-wide systems. The platform’s control environment is based on Node-RED, the open-source, flow-based framework used widely in automation and enterprise integration, giving nexAV a path for continuous improvement and third-party integrations. Live demonstrations at InfoComm showed how AV-over-IP routing, DSP and control can run as one software layer across hospitality, conferencing and enterprise-wide AV deployments.
XTEN-AV: AI-Powered AV Tools and Connected Operations
XTEN-AV used InfoComm to underline how AI-powered AV tools can extend beyond design into service operations. The company’s platform automates audiovisual project workflows, proposal generation, AV design, documentation and project delivery, with AI assistance aimed at reducing manual coordination and repeated data entry. Its new focus, however, was X-PRO Service, a framework for post-install AV management. X-PRO Service is designed to fold service calls, maintenance workflows, technician scheduling and recurring support relationships into the same connected ecosystem that teams already use for design and installation. “AV integrators don’t stop supporting a client once installation is complete,” said Sahil Dhingra, co-founder and CEO of XTEN-AV. The message at the booth summed up the approach: “Design it. Deliver it. Service it. All inside XTEN-AV.” For integrators and enterprise AV teams, that unified AV automation workflow promises clearer visibility and fewer standalone tools.
Disguise: Immersive Audio Visual Experiences and Cross-Platform Control
Disguise focused on creative and immersive audio visual applications, highlighting new software features and integrations for live entertainment and attractions. A new version of Mapping Matter, its web-based projection mapping solution, adds an extended projector library, support for LED tiles and projection mirrors, plus the ability to layer project files to compare setups. At the Smart Monkeys booth, Disguise displayed an upcoming integration with the ISAAC platform, adding a CMS, scheduling and infrastructure monitoring so both technical and non-technical users can operate Disguise systems from a browser alongside the rest of their AV system. New Designer features, Looks and Compositions, introduce API-driven control of content and brightness as well as transportable packages for media lifecycle management. With Disguise servers, including the VX range and X1 software solution, appearing across partner stands, InfoComm attendees saw how creative workflows are linking more tightly to operational control systems.
AI Automation and Integration: The Next Wave of AV Software
Across these three AV software platforms, several common threads emerged: AI-powered AV tools, AV-over-IP routing, cross-platform integration and end-to-end workflows. Visionary’s nexAV We-Cosystem shows how routing, DSP and control can share a single software backbone in converged AV and IT environments. XTEN-AV demonstrates how AI can coordinate the AV automation workflow, from front-end design to long-term service operations, within one connected operations platform. Disguise, working with Smart Monkeys and Planar, illustrates how immersive audio visual storytelling now depends on integrations with broader AV infrastructure, web-based management and programmable APIs. Together, these launches indicate that the next generation of AV software solutions will be judged by how well they centralize design, control and service, rather than by standalone feature lists. For AV integrators and enterprise teams, the challenge now is to select platforms that can grow with increasingly software-defined systems.
