One important catch in any HDMI upgrade guide is that the HDMI 2.2 logo does not guarantee full 96Gbps performance. The specification allows several tiers: 64Gbps, 80Gbps, and 96Gbps. Manufacturers can claim HDMI 2.2 support even if their hardware tops out below the maximum HDMI 2.2 bandwidth. As a result, two TVs, monitors, or receivers with the same HDMI 2.2 badge might behave very differently when you try to run 4K 240Hz video or higher.
