It is a deliberate refusal to cram full automation into every device. Over time, Anthropic saw people repurposing its coding tool for office tasks and pushed Cowork toward workplace use with connectors across email, calendar, messaging, and other systems. Now, with doubled five-hour Cowork usage limits extended through August 5 for eligible Pro, Max, Team, and legacy seat-based Enterprise users, the company is actively encouraging larger, longer-running tasks. The next step is unifying Cowork with the chatbot so people can chat with Claude and hand it computer tasks from a single interface, starting on web and desktop. Remote workers should treat this as a chance to redesign their day: hand complex work to Claude at your desk, let it run as a background agent, and manage decisions from your phone while you move.
