Claude + NotebookLM and Gemini: a smarter research stack, not a walled garden
One of the strongest arguments for Claude Code over a traditional suite is how well it plays with existing knowledge tools. Claude Projects can pick up where NotebookLM’s rigidity starts to pinch, with the two combined forming a practical research stack rather than competing silos. The setup is small on day one but compounds: over months of NotebookLM use, it saves hours previously lost to hunting for the right source.
Why Claude’s "developer tool" label misses the point
Claude Code is marketed as a developer tool, and its terminal interface scared off people who assumed they needed to write code to benefit. Even the author admits they avoided it for months for that reason. But file access alone opens a large slice of the productivity space that the regular chat interface cannot reach, from reorganizing writing archives to cleaning research dumps.
