Unlike earlier Remake entries, which launched first on PlayStation, Revelation arrives day-one on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. According to Technobezz, this is the first time a core Remake title lands on Xbox and Nintendo hardware simultaneously with PlayStation, signaling a shift toward a wider, platform-agnostic audience for the finale. Director Naoki Hamaguchi introduced the reveal trailer and extended gameplay with voice actor Matt Mercer, underlining the global reach Square Enix wants at launch. Cross-platform parity also supports narrative continuity: all players can arrive at the trilogy’s end together, without staggered releases splitting the conversation or forcing fans to wait months for their preferred platform.

Open World Gameplay Turns the Planet Into the Main Character

Revelation’s biggest structural change is its open world gameplay. The entire planet is now explorable from the Highwind airship, with seamless transitions from air to land and the ability to parachute directly into any region.
