Predictably, Riot disabled Waylay again after the Saturate bug surfaced, marking the second time in less than two weeks that players have been unable to pick her because of a game-breaking issue. That is not a normal level of instability for a live competitive shooter.
The official messaging only underlines how reactive this process is. Riot developer Tiffy admitted, “There’s a few more issues with Waylay’s abilities, and we’re disabling her to take a closer look at the bugs”. That might be the safest competitive decision, but it also confirms that the agent went live with more unknown problems still lurking. For Waylay mains, the result is whiplash: one day their duelist is part of their ranked identity, the next she is unpickable with no confirmed return date. In a role as central to team compositions as a duelist, repeated disables do not just protect fairness; they actively force teams and solo players into emergency meta swaps mid-season.
Killjoy’s Nanoswarm Door Bug: Subtle, But Still Game-Breaking
If Waylay’s problems are loud and obvious, the Killjoy nanoswarm bug is quieter but still corrosive. The bug makes Killjoy’s Nanoswarms completely disappear when thrown, and it is fairly easy to replicate on maps like Lotus, Ascent, or Sunset. In clips shared on social media, Killjoy mollies vanish when they are thrown into rotating doors on Lotus or the B Market door on Sunset as the doors are being activated. Developers have not publicly committed to disabling Killjoy, likely because the bug is situational and tied to door interactions rather than her entire kit. Instead, players are being told to avoid throwing Nanoswarms into doors on Ascent, Sunset, and Lotus as they are being opened. That advice may reduce the chance of triggering the issue, but it is essentially an unofficial rule layered on top of the real game rules. In high-stakes matches, competitors now have to remember that certain lineup trajectories are banned, not by design, but by a glitch. That is the opposite of clean, predictable gameplay, and it erodes confidence in the reliability of map-agent interactions.
