Measurement is another blind spot. Adobe’s research finds that only 31% of organizations have a measurement framework for agentic AI, and more than half struggle to show returns using customer experience metrics. Without reliable data, clear AI governance frameworks, and consistent KPIs, autonomous systems are likely to produce erratic outcomes, compliance risk, and weak business value.

Agentic AI Readiness on the Web: Lighthouse and New Testing Signals

Website owners now have early AI agent testing tools to check if their properties are ready for autonomous AI. Google’s new Agentic Web report in Lighthouse, currently available in Chrome Canary, evaluates whether sites are discoverable and usable by agents. It focuses on AI accessibility via the accessibility tree, which signals to agents where key buttons and elements sit on a page, and checks for WebMCP integration, a proposed web standard that exposes structured tools and workflows for AI agents. The report also reviews an LLMs.txt file, which can communicate how large language models should use a site. Rather than a single score, Lighthouse returns a ratio of passed readiness checks, giving teams a practical way to spot gaps before agents start interacting with their content and forms at scale.

As these pioneers publish standards and share lessons, their safeguards around data quality, consent, monitoring, and human oversight are likely to become baseline expectations. Organizations that invest early in these foundations will be better positioned to deploy AI agents safely, win customer trust, and keep up with rising expectations.
