The new 31.5-inch panel supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600, which requires black levels under 0.0005 nits and at least 600 nits from white, red, green, and blue at a 10% average picture level, giving HDR games more punch and detail in dark scenes. A dual-mode feature lets users switch from 4K 360Hz down to full HD resolution, where the refresh rate can climb to 680Hz for maximum responsiveness. This flexibility means the same QD-OLED gaming monitor can prioritize either pixel density or raw frame rate, depending on whether the user is playing competitive shooters or story-driven titles.
Nvidia Partnership: Tuning OLED Gaming Performance for Next-Gen GPUs
To prove that OLED gaming performance can keep up with next-generation graphics cards, Samsung Display is working with Nvidia in a dedicated image quality zone at Computex. Systems powered by GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs and equipped with Samsung OLED and QD-OLED panels run Capcom’s visually heavy title Pragmata, which uses complex reflections, deep-space shadows, and metallic surfaces. Nvidia’s RTX 50 series adds path tracing and DLSS 4.5, and the self-emissive panels respond with contrast ratios up to 1,000,000:1 and fast response times that cut motion blur in high-frame-rate gameplay. According to Kim Young-seok of Samsung Display, “OLED and QD-OLED are displays capable of faithfully reproducing the full performance of the latest GPUs,” underlining how this panel class is tuned for ray tracing, HDR, and competitive frame rates at the same time.

Impact on the Gaming Monitor Market and What Comes Next
By bringing a 4K 360Hz display to Computex and preparing mass production for the second half of the year, Samsung Display is sending a clear signal to the gaming monitor market. The company says it is already in supply talks with about ten global customers, suggesting that multiple brands could adopt this QD-OLED gaming monitor panel for high-end models. Alongside the flagship, Samsung also presented a 34-inch QD-OLED with QHD+ resolution and a new Vertical Stripe subpixel layout that improves text clarity, which matters for creators and gamers who work and play on the same screen.
