Samsung Display uses its Penta Tandem structure, a five-layer blue OLED stack with new organic materials, to raise brightness and improve HDR for both games and video. The panel carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification, which demands black levels below 0.0005 nits and at least 600 nits from white, red, green, and blue at 10% APL. In a shared image quality zone, the companies used Asus’s ROG Zephyrus G16 laptop and MSI’s MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 monitor, both using Samsung Display panels and powered by GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs. The demo centered on Capcom’s visually demanding game Pragmata, rich in reflective metal, deep shadows, and space scenes. The RTX 50 series adds real-time path tracing and DLSS 4.5, helping push both frame rate and image quality. OLED and QD-OLED panels, with contrast ratios up to 1,000,000:1 and fast response times, highlight these rendering advances through blur-free motion and subtle shadow detail. Kim Young-seok of Samsung Display noted that OLED and QD-OLED are “capable of faithfully reproducing the full performance of the latest GPUs.”

Compared with current premium gaming monitors, Samsung’s 4K 360Hz QD-OLED panel raises both resolution and refresh rate at once. High-end 4K screens today usually top out around 240Hz, while 360Hz and beyond are mostly limited to 1440p or 1080p. QD-OLED also improves on many LCD-based esports displays by removing the backlight, which cuts blooming and raises contrast while reducing gray-to-gray response times.
