Deezer’s streaming platform AI detection starts with a simple workflow: listeners choose a supported service, authenticate their account, and select playlists to scan. The company says its tool supports around 20 platforms and 27 interface languages, aiming to fit into everyday listening habits rather than a niche, technical workflow. Once connected, Deezer’s system compares tracks against models trained to spot music created fully or substantially with generative systems such as Suno and Udio, with more generators added as training material becomes available. Deezer claims an accuracy rate of 99.8 percent with fewer than 1 in 10,000 authentic songs wrongly flagged as AI-generated. Inside Deezer’s own app, detected AI tracks are removed from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists, but when scanning rival services the detector only reports results, leaving listeners to decide what to do with flagged songs.
Why AI-Generated Tracks Are Shaping Music Discovery
The new AI music detector arrives amid a flood of synthetic songs entering streaming catalogs. Deezer’s internal figures suggest about 75,000 AI-generated tracks are delivered daily, representing more than 44 percent of new music it receives. The company also reports that 43 percent of people joining Deezer from other platforms already have AI music in their playlists. That scale makes streaming platform AI detection more than a curiosity: it is a trust issue for recommendations. A New Phase in Streaming Platform AI Detection
Deezer’s open scanner also puts pressure on rival platforms to clarify their own AI policies. Spotify focuses on disclosure in track credits, relying on labels and distributors to state if AI tools were used, which means missing credits do not prove that a song is human-created. Qobuz, by contrast, is rolling out its own system to tag fully AI-generated content across both new releases and its back catalog. Deezer’s move to let anyone detect AI generated music in playlists on competing services highlights a gap: listeners can now see where synthetic tracks appear, but only platforms themselves can change catalog labels, recommendation rules, or payment systems in response. As AI-assisted streaming fraud grows and synthetic music becomes an everyday listening reality, the next step will be whether major services adopt detection at the service level rather than leaving it to optional tools.
