Inside the $11.6M Seed Round and What It Enables

Clair Health has raised USD 11.6 million (approx. RM53.4 million) in seed funding to bring its continuous hormone monitoring wristband to market and deepen its research. The round was led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from a16z’s speedrun accelerator, Brydge Club, AI in Health Fund, Cartan Capital, AGI House, Insiders VC, and 23andMe co-founder Anne Wojcicki. The company, founded by Stanford graduates Jenny Duan and Abhinav Agarwal, plans a November launch as a wellness product, with regulatory clearance to follow. According to Clair, its waitlist has surpassed 25,000 people and the first 5,000 units sold out six months before release. The fresh funding will support scaling hardware production, refining AI models trained on more than 130 proprietary biomarkers, and advancing independent validation studies, including work through the Stanford Gladstone BeeHive program.

How Clair’s Noninvasive Hormone-Tracking Wearable Works

Clair’s hormone tracking wearable uses a stack of ten biosensors, including biomagnetic sensors, to read subtle changes in the body and infer hormone levels. These sensors measure signals like skin temperature, heart rate variability, and electrodermal activity, which Clair’s AI maps to patterns in estrogen, progesterone, LH, and FSH. The company reports that its models can classify menstrual cycle phases with 94% accuracy when compared to daily urine samples, though peer-reviewed clinical data has not yet been published. Clair also holds provisional patents on its sensor configuration and is experimenting with voice-based biomarkers that may identify cycle phases after a short conversation. Data privacy is a core design feature: processing happens on the user’s phone, and the company says information is protected with zero-knowledge encryption to keep sensitive hormonal data under the user’s control.

Clair is entering a crowded women’s health wearables market at a time when 57% of people reportedly own a wearable or connected device, making differentiation essential. Its jewelry-inspired design aims to reposition noninvasive hormone tracking as both a health tool and a daily accessory, moving away from medicalized aesthetics toward something users feel comfortable wearing around the clock. The wristband is planned as a wellness product first, with a subscription model and future features that could cover perimenopause monitoring, hormone replacement therapy fine-tuning, and screening support for conditions like PCOS and endometriosis. More than 100 fertility clinics have signaled interest through letters of intent, suggesting potential clinical partnerships down the line. If Clair can prove accuracy in peer-reviewed studies and maintain user trust on privacy, its continuous hormone monitoring approach may set a new baseline for how wearables serve women’s long-term health.
