According to Clair, the device uses 10 biosensors and over 130 proprietary biomarkers to infer patterns in estrogen, progesterone, LH and FSH without blood draws, urine tests or implants. Instead of measuring hormones directly, it reads the physiological effects hormones have across the body and applies machine learning to estimate how endocrine signals are shifting. Clair reports a waitlist of more than 25,000 people, and its first 5,000-unit run sold out months before release, highlighting demand for women’s health wearables that move beyond step counts and generic sleep scores.

By continuously modeling the hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian axis, the company reports identifying nine distinct hormonal sub-phases across a cycle during beta testing, indicating richer dynamics than the simple follicular–ovulatory–luteal story many people learn. According to Clair’s co-founder and CTO Abhinav Agarwal, some of these patterns appear in scientific literature but have been hard to observe consistently because hormone testing has relied on episodic blood or urine sampling. Continuous hormone tracking wearables offer a way to capture these subtle shifts in real time, which could sharpen understanding of symptoms like mid-cycle fatigue, premenstrual mood changes or variable pain.
