Cross-App Task Automation and Chrome Auto Browse
One of the standout Gemini Intelligence Android features is cross-app task automation. By long-pressing the power button, you can give Gemini access to what’s on your screen or in your camera view. It can then chain together actions across multiple apps: turning a grocery list in your notes into a delivery cart, or scanning a travel brochure with the camera and finding a similar six-person tour on services like Expedia. While Gemini works in the background, progress appears in live notifications, and it always pauses for your final confirmation before completing a transaction. Gemini Intelligence also plugs into Chrome on Android. Starting in late June, Gemini in Chrome will help you research, summarize and compare content, then use Auto Browse to book appointments or reserve parking spots online. Instead of manually hunting for account details, addresses or ID numbers, Gemini can suggest relevant data, even drawing from images such as a photo of your passport. This Personal Intelligence capability is meant to reduce the friction of tiny text fields scattered across apps and websites. It works alongside Gemini’s new Chrome tools, which can summarize pages, compare products and assist with reservations or bookings. Over time, Gemini learns your preferences and behavior patterns, making its suggestions more contextual—like prioritizing frequently used addresses or tailoring form entries to your typical choices. Crucially, connecting Gemini to Autofill is opt-in, giving you control over how your data is used.
Rambler Voice Input and Create My Widget
Gemini Intelligence also upgrades how you talk to your phone and how your home screen looks. A new Gboard feature called Rambler lets you dictate messages in a natural way, complete with pauses, corrections and filler words like “um” or “like.” Rambler processes your speech in real time to produce clean, concise text, automatically removing those fillers and understanding when you change your mind mid-sentence. It even supports mixing multiple languages in a single message. Google says audio is processed live for transcription and not stored. On the visual side, a tool called Create My Widget lets you generate custom widgets for Android and Wear OS using a simple text prompt. You might request weekly meal-prep ideas, bike-friendly weather details or stock alerts at specific price thresholds.
