Vivo is using the X Fold 6 to show what a foldable-specific workspace can look like. The company’s upgraded Atomic Workbench adds a Parallel mode that can run up to four apps at once on a single screen, tiling each window so they remain visible in the foreground instead of hiding in tabs or a recent-apps carousel. Vivo’s product manager notes that users can switch between serial and parallel modes and even unlock four apps at once for tasks such as booking tickets or comparing prices side by side. This approach treats the inner display like a portable monitor, rather than a phone that happens to bend. Combined with a desktop mode that turns the phone into a touchpad when connected to an external display, the X Fold 6 is working to bring laptop-style multitasking into everyday mobile use.
AI File Manager: smarter naming, grouping, and access

According to Android Authority, Vivo executive Han Boxiao confirmed that the app offers “AI intelligent naming” to clean up messy filenames by analyzing file contents. The same system powers intelligent file recommendations that surface documents before or after meetings and an AI organization tool that responds to natural-language prompts, such as asking it to gather all files related to an upcoming trip. A home-screen widget can also display frequently used files for faster access. These changes sound small, but on a big foldable screen they matter: instead of digging through nested folders while juggling three or four apps, users get context-aware files just when they need them, aligning file management with multitasking rather than treating it as a separate chore.
Chipsets and desktops tuned for multitasking foldable phones
Vivo is pairing its software experiments with hardware tuned for multitasking foldable phones. The X Fold 6 will use a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset, which Vivo describes as a customized version designed to enhance multi-tasking, multi-threaded processing, and multi-window rendering. Another Vivo representative has confirmed a desktop mode that activates when the phone connects to an external display, turning the foldable into a touchpad while supporting an external mouse and keyboard. In parallel, Vivo’s Xiao V Claw PC version—integrated into its office suite for both Windows and Mac—lets users send commands from the phone so the computer executes tasks, creating a loop between pocket device, desktop workspace, and smart file tools.

Vivo’s push into foldable-aware file tools raises the bar for rivals like Samsung and Google. If a Z Fold 8 rival offers four-way app tiling, an AI File Manager, and natural-language file grouping, users will start expecting similar abilities from One UI and Android’s own file apps.
