Apple has agreed to a USD 250 million (approx. RM1,150,000,000) settlement tied to delayed and missing Apple Intelligence features on certain iPhones. The lawsuit claimed Apple “saturated the market with deceptive ads” by heavily promoting advanced AI capabilities, including an enhanced Siri that would act as an intelligent agent, when launching the iPhone 16 line. However, those highlighted Apple Intelligence features did not ship with the phones at launch. Early AI tools such as Visual Intelligence, Live Translation, Writing Tools, Genmoji and Clean Up appeared soon after the introduction of iPhone 16 and iOS 18, but the more advanced Siri-related functions arrived later with iOS 18.1, roughly five weeks after release. To resolve these claims and avoid prolonged litigation, Apple chose to settle and compensate affected customers rather than continue fighting in court, while stating it wants to stay focused on delivering innovative products and services.

Only specific devices and purchase dates qualify for this iPhone AI features lawsuit settlement. Customers who bought an iPhone 16, iPhone 16E, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, may be eligible to claim compensation from Apple. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are included because their processor and memory can run Apple Intelligence features, just like the iPhone 16 lineup. It’s estimated that around 36 million customers fall within this group. Payouts are expected to range from USD 25 (approx. RM115) to USD 95 (approx. RM440) per eligible device. How the Claim Process Works and What You Need to Do

You cannot file your claim compensation with Apple just yet, but the process is clearly defined. After the settlement receives court approval, Apple will send a list of eligible customers and their contact details to a settlement administrator. Once that data is verified, the company Verita will begin sending notices by email and post. Each notice will point you to an official settlement website, which has not yet been created. On that site, you’ll be able to submit your Apple settlement claim online, confirming your identity and eligible device details. You won’t need to individually prove Apple Intelligence delays; the eligibility list should already cover that. The key step for now is to watch your inbox and physical mail. When your notice arrives, you will have 90 days from that date to file your claim before the window closes.

Timeline: When You Can Expect Your Settlement Payment

Understanding the timeline helps set realistic expectations for when money might reach your account. The court has scheduled settlement approval for June 17, 2026. Within five days of that approval, Apple must provide the customer information needed to identify who can participate in the 250 million payout. After the data is verified, a 45-day notice period begins. During this period, Verita will send out the email and postal notices that invite you to file your claim. Once exclusions, objections and other final details are resolved, payments will be issued within a 60-calendar-day window. That schedule means the earliest checks or deposits are likely to arrive sometime after September 2026, depending on how quickly the court process moves and whether any extensions are granted.
