BYD Denza Z9S: Longest range EV bragging rights
At the other end of the spectrum sits the BYD Denza Z9S, which chases the title of longest range EV rather than budget champion. It opens pre-orders from CNY 319,800 (about USD 47,000; approx. RM225,000) and promises up to 684 miles of range on a single charge in its top version. That figure comes from a 102.3 kWh pack and the generous CLTC cycle, so real-world numbers will be lower. BYD fits second-generation LFP Blade batteries with brutal fast-charging: from 10% to 70% in about five minutes, and up to 97% in another four when connected to a compatible DC charger. This is not a budget electric vehicle, but it highlights how far LFP chemistry and packaging have come – and how much range headroom exists above mainstream options like the Bolt.

Taken together, the A2 e-tron, Bolt and Denza Z9S show how fast efficiency and value are moving in the EV world.
