GiMATE: GIGABYTE’s On-Device AI Assistant Strategy
GiMATE is GIGABYTE’s new on-device AI assistant, built to manage system performance, power, and AI workloads locally on high-end gaming and creator laptops without depending on the cloud. By combining performance tuning with generative AI features, GiMATE aims to turn AI-powered laptops into more efficient, controllable tools for gaming, content creation, and productivity. Through a dedicated interface, users can adjust CPU usage to extend battery life, set limits for long-term CPU power, manage boost behavior, and even control peak power draw. GiMATE also integrates GPU overclocking controls, giving enthusiasts and professionals a single, AI-aware hub for performance profiles. With this move, GIGABYTE is entering the AI assistant ecosystem alongside platform-level tools, but with a clear focus on hardware-level control and local inference on RTX 50 Series GPUs.

AORUS Master 16: Flagship RTX 5090 GPU Laptop with GiMATE
The AORUS Master 16 laptop is GIGABYTE’s GiMATE-powered flagship, built around an AMD Zen 5 Ryzen 9 9950HX3D processor offering 16 cores and 32 threads for demanding workloads. Paired with it is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU laptop configuration with 24 GB of GDDR7 VRAM inside an ultra-slim 19 mm chassis, targeting top-end gaming and AI use. This model won the Computex Best Choice Award for extreme performance, underlining GIGABYTE’s intent to sit at the front of AI-powered laptops. GiMATE comes pre-installed, allowing users to tweak CPU power states via SPL, SPPOT, and FPPT on AMD chips, while also managing GPU behavior and overclocking through a MUX switch. By focusing on on-device AI performance, GIGABYTE positions the AORUS Master 16 as a reference RTX 5090 GPU laptop for gamers and creators who want powerful, local AI processing.

AERO X16 and GAMING A16 PRO: Extending GiMATE Across Segments
Beyond the AORUS Master 16 laptop, GiMATE is integrated into the AERO X16 and GAMING A16 PRO, signaling a wider strategy across gaming and creator lines. The AERO X16, a Copilot+ PC and Red Dot Design Award winner, combines a GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU with 12 GB VRAM, making it suitable for AI workloads and modern games while maintaining a slim design. The GAMING A16 PRO pairs a GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185, also inside a sub-20 mm chassis. According to GIGABYTE, all three models “ship with GiMATE, leveraging NVIDIA NVFP4 quantization to improve generative AI efficiency on RTX 50 series laptop GPUs.” This gives users consistent AI-aware performance tuning and local inference tools across multiple tiers, from premium gaming to creative-focused systems.

Local AI, Privacy, and Competition in the Assistant Race
GiMATE arrives as PC makers race to build their own AI assistants rather than relying only on platform-level services. By focusing on on-device processing with RTX 50 Series GPUs, GIGABYTE addresses privacy and latency concerns that come with cloud-only assistants. NVIDIA NVFP4 quantization is central here, enabling more efficient generative AI workloads on RTX 5070, 5080, and 5090 laptop GPUs while keeping data and prompts on the machine. For users, this means faster responses, fewer connection requirements, and tighter integration with performance controls. At the same time, GiMATE’s detailed CPU and GPU tuning options differentiate it from assistants that mainly handle natural language tasks. GIGABYTE has not yet revealed pricing or availability, but by tying GiMATE to its flagship AORUS and AERO lines, the company is clearly positioning itself as a serious competitor in AI-powered laptops and assistant ecosystems.
