It is the first ARCAM integrated to use a fully dual mono Class G architecture, giving each channel its own PCB, output stage, Class G lifter stages, power regulation, and transformer windings to reduce crosstalk and improve stereo separation. Power is rated at 2 × 150W into 8 ohms, aiming to give ample control and headroom across a wide range of loudspeakers. Digital duties are handled by an ESS ES9039Q2M DAC in a fully differential configuration with an ESS reference voltage regulator. Supporting CD, CD-R, and CD-RW media, the CD25 is designed to sit comfortably alongside the ARCAM A50 Signature amplifier, SA45, SA35, A25+, or any amplifier with suitable analog inputs. ARCAM says the CD25 is its first design since the FMJ D33 DAC to use a dual mono DAC architecture, with separate conversion paths intended to improve stereo separation and channel performance. It is also the company’s first product to use ESS Hyperstream 4 DAC technology. A linear toroidal power supply aims for stable, low-noise performance, while a vibration-damped internal structure helps maintain accurate disc reading. Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs give the player flexibility in high-performance two-channel systems, with the XLR connection a natural partner for the A50 Signature’s balanced input.
