Tomoro’s prior work with companies like Tesco, Virgin Atlantic and Supercell has involved operating large-scale, real-time AI systems where reliability, governance and integration are non-negotiable. This experience positions the team to help enterprises reconstruct existing infrastructure and workflows around frontier AI systems rather than layering tools on top of legacy processes. By combining Tomoro’s hands-on deployment capability with OpenAI’s models, the new unit aims to deliver production-grade AI infrastructure rather than isolated proofs of concept.
USD 4 Billion (approx. RM18.4 billion) Bet on Enterprise AI Production
The OpenAI Deployment Company launches with more than USD 4 billion (approx. RM18.4 billion) in initial investment, signalling a long-term commitment to enterprise AI production rather than short-term experimentation. The funding is backed by a partnership of 19 investment firms, consultancies and systems integrators. TPG leads the group, with Advent, Bain Capital and Brookfield as co-lead founding partners, alongside organisations such as B Capital, BBVA, Emergence Capital, Goanna, Goldman Sachs, SoftBank Corp., Warburg Pincus and WCAS. Consulting and integration heavyweights including Bain & Company, Capgemini and McKinsey & Company add change-management and implementation muscle.
