Tomoro Acquisition: 150 Specialists Focused on Complex Enterprise Integration
Central to this strategy is OpenAI’s agreement to acquire Tomoro, an applied AI consulting and engineering firm. Once regulatory approvals are complete, Tomoro is expected to bring about 150 Forward Deployed Engineers and deployment specialists into the OpenAI Deployment Company. Their role is not just technical implementation; they will embed within client organisations to help reconstruct critical workflows, integrate OpenAI models into existing systems, and address complex challenges such as ERP connectivity and governed access to internal data. This kind of business AI integration goes beyond proof-of-concept chatbots or narrow automation pilots. It targets core operational processes, including real-time systems in areas such as customer operations and decision support. By acquiring ready-made deployment teams with experience in large, operational AI projects, OpenAI dramatically accelerates its capacity to support enterprise AI deployment at scale from day one.
