AAKRUTI: A CAD Design Competition Focused on Robotics and Real-World Problems
Dassault Systèmes has launched the 16th AAKRUTI Innovation Competition, a long-running CAD design competition aimed at students who want to work on real engineering challenges. AAKRUTI 2026–27 centers on four themes: robotics, local community problems, healthcare innovation and mobility. Students use the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and SOLIDWORKS tools to move from idea to functioning digital prototype, encouraging them to connect design thinking with measurable impact. According to Dassault Systèmes, the program has already drawn more than 75,000 students from over 1,000 institutes and 37 countries. This edition raises the stakes with USD 20,000 (approx. RM92,000) in cash prizes and SOLIDWORKS licenses for winners, while every participant gains access to licenses, certification attempts such as CSWA and CSWP, and the wider 3DEXPERIENCE ecosystem. Dassault says previous AAKRUTI editions delivered over 2,000 certifications worth nearly USD 396,000 (approx. RM1,821,600) in upskilling value.
Myrex IRIS Turns Factory Machines into a Manufacturing Training Platform
While Trimble and Dassault center on competitions, Myrex is using Automate 2026 in Chicago to introduce a different kind of opportunity: IRIS, a manufacturing training platform built around high-definition 3D models. IRIS captures each production asset through a proprietary scan, then turns that model into a visual interface for training, maintenance and troubleshooting.
