What the Android 17 Update Means and When It Starts
Android 17 eligible devices are phones and tablets that will receive Google’s next major mobile operating system update, which introduces new AI capabilities, performance tuning, and interface refinements while extending long‑term software support across Google and third‑party manufacturers. Google has been running a public beta since February, with Beta 1 landing on February 13 and reaching platform stability with Beta 3 on March 27. According to Gizmochina, Beta 4.1 rolled out on June 1 and “the next build will likely be stable,” with a stable Pixel Android 17 release date expected in the second week of June. This major release kicks off the wider rollout: Pixels get it first, then manufacturers like Motorola and Realme adapt it into their own skins, delivering Android 17 through updates such as Motorola’s My UX builds and Realme UI 8.0 later in the year.

Google Pixel: First in Line for Android 17
Google’s own phones always lead any Android 17 update list. Android 17 has followed last year’s dual-release pattern, with a major build targeted for Q2 and a smaller follow‑up later. The beta cycle has been steady: Beta 1 (February 13), Beta 2 (February 26), Beta 3 (March 26), Beta 4 (April 16), then Beta 4.1 on June 1. Gizmochina says the stable build “may be released at any time now,” with the window narrowed to the second week of June and a strong chance of a Tuesday rollout. Newer models like the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 are confirmed to receive headline AI enhancements, but many older Pixels will also move up to Android 17 as long as they are still within Google’s software support window, which typically includes at least several generations of previous flagships.
Motorola Android 17 Support: Razr, Edge and Moto G
Motorola Android 17 support is broad, covering premium foldables and affordable Moto G devices. While Motorola has not yet issued an official list, Gizmochina’s eligibility guide is based on each model’s current update policy and should be “mostly accurate.” The Motorola Razr line that is expected to move to Android 17 includes Razr 70, Razr 70+, Razr 70 Ultra, Razr 60, Razr+ 2025, Razr 60 Ultra, plus Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra. Flagship Edge phones like the Edge 70 family, Edge 60 series, Edge 50 series, and recent Edge (2025–2026) models are also covered. Budget users are not left out: many Moto G phones from Moto G Stylus 5G (2025–2026) and Moto G Power 5G (2025–2026) down to Moto G37 and G37 Power are listed. Motorola is expected to begin its rollout around September, echoing last year’s timing.
Realme UI 8.0 (Android 17): Confirmed Phones and Tablets
Realme’s take on Android 17 comes as Realme UI 8.0, combining Google’s core changes with Realme’s own features. Like Motorola, Realme has not yet published an official roster, but Gizmochina compiled a Realme UI 8.0 Android 17 eligible devices list using the brand’s update policy. In the Realme GT lineup, GT 8 Pro, GT 7, GT 7 Pro, GT 7 Pro Racing, GT 7T, GT 6, GT 6T and GT 5 Pro are included. Number series models from Realme 14 to Realme 16, including Pro, Pro+, T, Lite and x variants, also qualify. Budget‑focused families such as the Realme C, Narzo, Note and Pad series appear, for example C85, Narzo 100 Lite, Narzo 90, Note 80 and Note 70. Realme UI 8.0 is expected around November, with the beta program currently limited to the Realme GT 8 Pro.

Cross‑Brand Comparison: Which Phones Get Android 17, and When?
If you are comparing which phones get Android 17 across brands, the pattern is clear: Pixels first, then major OEMs over the following months. Pixel devices will receive the stable build as soon as Google finalizes it in June, starting the overall rollout. Motorola follows later: its Android 17 eligible devices include dozens of Razr foldables, Edge flagships and Moto G phones, with a likely release window around September based on last year’s schedule. Realme devices that qualify for Realme UI 8.0, such as the GT 8 Pro, GT 7 series, Realme 16 series, plus C, Narzo, Note and Pad lines, are expected to see stable builds about November. For buyers choosing a new phone today, this means Pixels give the fastest access, Motorola offers wide mid‑range coverage, and Realme focuses on recent GT and number series hardware.
