What OpenAI on Amazon Bedrock Means for Enterprises
OpenAI on Amazon Bedrock is the availability of OpenAI’s frontier GPT models and Codex coding agent as managed services inside AWS, giving enterprises governed, usage-based access to advanced AI without adding a new provider. This move follows the revision of OpenAI’s exclusive cloud arrangement with Microsoft and marks a clear shift toward multi-cloud AI access. GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.4 are now exposed through Bedrock’s Responses API, running on a next-generation inference engine with pricing that matches OpenAI’s own API and usage folded into existing AWS commitments. More than 100,000 organizations already on Bedrock can tap these models within their current identity, billing, and compliance setup.
