To reduce eye strain, the glasses use 3840Hz PWM dimming and hardware-level blue light reduction, important for anyone planning to use them as a primary portable display. In practice, these Micro OLED displays position the XBX A01 not as a novelty viewer, but as a credible alternative to a travel monitor or large home screen.

Spatial Stabilization and Anti-Shake: AR That Holds Still

Xreal adds a spatial stabilization system to the XBX A01 to keep the virtual screen steady even when the real world is in motion. A posture-tracking algorithm samples movement around 1,000 times per second and compensates for shakes you feel in a car, train, or plane. XREAL describes this as an “industry-first algorithm” that preserves image clarity during turbulence or subway rides, making the A01 more than a living-room gadget. An Entry Point for the X by XREAL Series and AR’s Next Wave

The XBX A01 is the first model in the X by XREAL series, a sub-brand built to be “a simpler, more approachable path into the world of AR glasses,” in the words of XREAL co-founder and CEO Chi Xu. Positioned as an affordable entry-level product, it connects over USB-C to any device that supports DisplayPort output, including phones, PCs, and handheld game consoles. Paired with Beam Pro, it becomes a more advanced AR setup with floating windows. The A01 and the slightly pricier A01+ (which adds a light-blocking cover and an exclusive surround sound mode) have launched locally first, with international expansion planned and prices starting at USD 299 (approx. RM1,410). With its 62g frame, Micro OLED displays, and spatial anti-shake, the XBX A01 shows how lightweight AR glasses could shift from niche gadgets into everyday personal displays.
