Anthropic has been steadily positioning Claude Cowork as something closer to a digital teammate, and this update pushes that idea further. An update for Claude subscribers adds this new way to teach its AI chatbot how to complete some of your most tedious workflows. It is currently rolling out to Pro, Max, and Team users through the desktop Cowork interface, where Record a Skill lives alongside file uploads and other tools.
Calling it a teammate is not marketing fluff in this case. Cowork now watches over your shoulder once, remembers the routine, and steps in the next time. The vision is clear: instead of treating AI as a search box for instructions, you treat it like a colleague you can pair with on recurring tasks.
