The standard N1 line trims both CPU and GPU: one leaked version combines 8+4 CPU cores with 20 SMs (2,560 CUDA cores) and targets 18W–45W, putting it into thin-and-light territory. These SoCs support LPDDR5X unified memory (up to 128GB on N1X, 64GB on higher N1 parts) plus PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 lanes for fast storage and discrete devices.

Pre-release Geekbench 6 results suggest the N1X’s 20-core ARM CPU lands below Apple’s M3 Max, a chip that first appeared in MacBook Pro models in late 2023. Wccftech notes that “Apple’s M3 Max is outcompeting Nvidia’s N1X despite having launched nearly three years back,” based on leaked multi-core and single-core scores that roughly track the GB10 SoC in DGX Spark systems. It is important context that these N1X benchmarks come from June 2025 on unoptimized hardware, and Nvidia still has room to tune clocks, firmware, and Windows ARM schedulers before final devices ship. The N1X clearly targets performance laptops, with a 45W–80W envelope similar to today’s gaming designs, and rumors point to Lenovo as an early partner. A Lenovo-branded N1X gaming laptop would give Nvidia a showcase for an ARM-based Windows machine where RTX-class graphics and CUDA-compatible software are front and center. The N1 range, with 18W–45W TDPs and smaller GPUs, looks better suited to mainstream ultraportables where battery life, AI acceleration and light gaming matter more than maximum frame rates. For this to work, however, Windows on ARM must offer stable x86 app translation and native support for key gaming platforms and creative tools.
