SAP and Anthropic are embedding Claude’s reasoning and agentic capabilities directly into the SAP Business AI Platform, enabling agents to act on business data spanning SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba and other systems via model context protocols. On top of the SAP Business AI Platform, SAP Autonomous Suite brings AI-driven autonomy to core functions like finance, supply chain, procurement, HR and customer experience. More than 50 Joule Assistants, supported by over 200 specialized agents, are designed to execute processes end‑to‑end, exemplified by the Autonomous Close Assistant, which can compress financial close cycles from weeks to days through automated entries, reconciliations and error handling. The strongest proof points so far come from new sustainability AI agents. Currently in beta, they are delivering over 50% reductions in packaging compliance review hours, cutting scenario simulation times from a day to 20 minutes, and reducing manual GHS classification effort by up to 80%, along with more than 20% fewer packaging compliance errors. These agents orchestrate multi-step tasks such as sustainability reporting, carbon footprint analysis and safety documentation, turning AI-driven business automation into tangible operational and compliance benefits.
Joule Studio, New Models and an Open Agentic Ecosystem
To scale SAP Autonomous Enterprise beyond SAP-built agents, Joule Studio has become the AI-first workbench for building custom Joule AI agents and enterprise AI assistants. The new fully managed Joule Studio removes infrastructure friction: SAP handles configuration and runtime so developers can focus on agent logic. It now supports popular tools and frameworks, including Cursor for coding, plus AutoGen and LlamaIndex for advanced agent orchestration and retrieval-augmented workflows.
