Google Search’s AI Mode: Interactive Diagrams and Always-On Agents
Google’s AI Mode in Search is evolving from plain AI answers into a visual and ongoing research assistant. The headline addition is interactive diagrams in search results. You can ask about topics like soccer formations and AI Mode will create an interactive visual you can tweak, with extra explanations below the image to deepen understanding. This interactive diagrams search feature began as a perk for AI Mode Pro and Ultra subscribers, but Google says it will roll out to all Search users this summer at no charge. In parallel, Google is expanding information agents for Ultra subscribers across all AI Mode languages and markets. According to Robby Stein, VP of Product for Google Search, “information agents in Search are now available in all AI Mode languages & markets for Google AI Ultra subscribers,” with wider access expected later in the summer.
Meta AI’s New Modes: Deep Research, Presentation, and Social
Meta AI on the web is also graduating from simple chat into a multi-mode research console. The upcoming Deep Research mode sends the model to the open web, gathers information from multiple sources, and returns a structured summary that resembles other long-form AI research tools. Presentation mode turns a prompt into a shareable slide deck that you can preview inline or in a side panel and share with a link, giving you a faster way to move from rough idea to usable slides. Social mode is the most distinctive: using suggested prompts, it fires multiple background agents to pull posts tied to your interests from Instagram, Threads, and Facebook. In tests, it already surfaces posts from all three platforms, pointing toward a future where Meta AI doubles as a personalized, searchable social feed for research and monitoring.
