Running an “AMD Custom CPU 1772” with 6 cores, 12 threads, boost clocks close to 4.8 GHz and 16 GB of RAM, the system posts single-core scores around 2,300 and multi-core results near 7,400. Against older Steam Deck results from Geekbench 6.2.2, that translates into nearly double the CPU performance, matching Valve’s positioning of the Steam Machine as a much more capable home system than its handheld console.

In practice, that means faster game loading, smoother background downloads during play and better performance in CPU-heavy titles or simulations. According to PC Guide, “you can expect almost a doubling of the performance in the CPU department alone” when moving from a Steam Deck to a Steam Machine.
