By grounding enterprise CX automation in shared data and governance, the Workforce Empowerment Suite turns the hybrid human-AI workforce from a collection of tools into an integrated workforce orchestration platform.

Vertical AI Agents: From Generic Chatbots to Industry-Specific CX
Vonage’s launch of industry-specific AI agents for healthcare, financial services, retail, and insurance shows where AI-native customer experience is heading next. Generic chatbots can answer broad questions, but they struggle when CX automation must follow strict workflows, comply with regulations, and manage escalation risk. Vonage describes its healthcare agents as capable of handling appointment scheduling, care navigation, billing support, and access to test results over voice, while financial services and retail agents blend deterministic flows with generative AI and guardrails. The meaningful shift is from language-level customisation to workflow-level intelligence: an industry-specific AI agent must understand tasks, policies, and risk thresholds, not only vocabulary.
