Pure Base 803: Defining be quiet’s new PC case cooling ecosystem
The be quiet Pure Base 803 PC case cooling ecosystem is a family of large-format chassis, IO-driven cooling components, and management software designed to unify airflow, thermals, and power control across enthusiast desktops. At Computex 2026, be quiet used the Pure Base 803 as the physical anchor for this ecosystem, framing it as a high-performance enclosure that can house up to eleven 140mm fans and liquid cooling radiators up to 420mm. The case ships in several configurations, all pre-populated with four 140mm fans, either Pure Wings 3 for a focus on quiet airflow or Light Wings LX for ARGB aesthetics. By pairing this chassis with IO-enabled fans, air and liquid coolers, and an intelligent PSU line, be quiet aims to give builders a cohesive PC case cooling ecosystem that combines layout flexibility, component compatibility, and central software control rather than a stack of unrelated parts.

Pure Base 803 variants balance airflow, storage, and aesthetics
The be quiet Pure Base 803 line centers on three main variants tailored to different priorities. The standard Pure Base 803, available in black, ships with four Pure Wings 3 fans and supports up to eleven 140mm fans in total, including three on the case floor for high-power graphics cards. The Pure Base 803 LX shifts the emphasis to aesthetics, swapping in Light Wings LX ARGB fans and offering both black and white finishes with tempered glass accents. A workstation-focused Airflow version replaces the glass front with mesh and supports up to ten hard drives plus EEB/CEB motherboards, making it suitable for storage-heavy builds. According to Overclock3D, “in total, 11 140mm fans can be installed inside this PC case,” underlining how much headroom builders have to scale cooling as hardware demands grow.

Layout innovations: top-mounted PSU, back-connect boards, and movable I/O
Beyond sheer scale, the be quiet Pure Base 803 introduces layout tweaks aimed at tidier builds and better airflow. All variants mount the PSU in a top shroud, freeing the case floor for up to three 140mm intake fans that feed modern high-power GPUs. The chassis is also designed for back-connect motherboards such as ASUS BTF, MSI Project Zero, and Gigabyte Stealth, hiding most cabling behind the tray. Inside, there are cutouts for up to seven hard drive caddies that sit directly in line with the front intake fans, while a metal cable management sleeve helps keep the main chamber uncluttered. Club386 highlights a neat usability touch: a movable front I/O module that lets users position the power button, audio jack, and USB ports either on the front face or top panel, depending on whether the PC sits on or under a desk.

IO-driven fans, coolers, and PSUs extend control beyond the case
Alongside the be quiet Pure Base 803, the company expanded its IO-branded hardware to build a broader PC case cooling ecosystem. New Light Wings Pro IO fans come in both 120mm and 140mm sizes and in single-frame 360mm and 420mm assemblies, with standard and reverse-blade options and black or white finishes. These fans use a custom, daisy-chainable connector and link into be quiet’s IO Controller for synchronized speed and RGB lighting control. On the cooling side, the Dark Rock Pro 6 IO LCD adds a 4.5-inch, 600-nit IPS display atop an air cooler, while the Light Loop IO LCD all-in-one liquid coolers arrive in 240mm and 360mm sizes. Power delivery joins the ecosystem through the Dark Power Pro 14 IO PSUs, rated at 1300W and 1600W with Titanium efficiency certifications and switchable single-rail or multi-rail modes via software.

IO Center ties the PC case cooling ecosystem into one control hub
All these IO-series parts converge in be quiet’s IO Center app, which acts as the software spine for the new PC case cooling ecosystem. IO Center can adjust fan curves, set RGB effects, and manage the LCD screens on both Dark Rock Pro 6 IO LCD and Light Loop IO coolers from one interface. Users can build multiple fan profiles and toggle them based on workload to favor silence or lower temperatures, instead of depending on motherboard BIOS presets. The app also exposes PSU controls for Dark Power Pro 14 IO, including fan profiles and rail mode selection, and extends to peripherals such as be quiet keyboards and mice. Overclock3D notes that “IO Center has become be quiet’s everything app,” and with the Pure Base 803 providing ample radiator and fan support, the result is a coordinated platform where case layout, airflow hardware, and power delivery work together rather than in isolation.
