iOS 27 Compatibility: Supported iPhones

iPadOS 27 Supported Devices: iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro
iPadOS 27 supported devices include a wide range of recent iPad models, but older tablets are now left behind. Supported models include MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with Apple silicon from 2020 or later, iMac with Apple silicon from 2021 onward, and Mac mini with Apple silicon from 2020. Desktop power users are covered by Mac Studio (2022 and later) and the Apple silicon Mac Pro (2023). The newly introduced MacBook Neo (2026) is also eligible. On the wrist, watchOS 27 devices start with Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Series 11, plus Watch Ultra 2 and Watch Ultra 3. WatchOS 27 requires an iPhone 11 or later—or iPhone SE 2nd generation or newer—running iOS 27, so both your watch and phone must meet the hardware requirements to use the update.
visionOS 27 and How to Prepare for OS 27 Updates
Alongside iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and watchOS 27, Apple also announced visionOS 27 for its spatial computing platform. Developer betas for all these systems have been available since WWDC 2026, but the final releases will arrive later this year once testing finishes. Before updating, back up your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch so you can roll back if something goes wrong. Check that your hardware is on the official compatibility lists and that you have enough free storage for the downloads.
