The company unveiled the ISOCELL HPC as a 1/1.3-inch chip with 0.6μm pixels, roughly matching the footprint of the ISOCELL HP2 inside the Galaxy S26 Ultra. But instead of keeping this leap exclusive, Samsung is sending it to rival brands first—and that will reshape the Galaxy S27 camera narrative.

DeepPix: why this 200MP sensor is more than a spec bump

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to get an exclusive HP6 sensor, another 1/1.3-inch 200MP chip that uses Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor tech for its own dynamic range boost. In effect, Samsung is splitting its camera bet: sell DeepPix-powered hardware widely for business, while keeping a different, locked-down sensor for its marquee phone—even if that means the most talked‑about innovation lands elsewhere first.
Business-first strategy and the new camera arms race

If Oppo, Vivo, or Xiaomi ship better low-light and HDR performance using the Samsung ISOCELL HPC sensor, Samsung will be forced to prove that its HP6-based Galaxy S27 camera can match or beat DeepPix on real images.
