AdonisML: Machine Learning Steps Into Soft Tissue Simulation
Where Headshot tackles likeness, Adonis 2.1 with AdonisML attacks the most technical layer of character work: soft tissue simulation. Adonis already lets rigging artists stack muscles, fat, and skin as separate solvers, filling the gap left by the now unavailable Ziva VFX. AdonisML adds two machine-learning 3D tools—the ML Deformer and Smart Tissue—that change how those solvers are used. Instead of animators waiting on slow muscle and skin setups, the ML Deformer is trained to approximate the resulting deformations directly on the mesh, giving near-high-fidelity motion at interactive speed. Headshot’s AI Image Generator, built on Google’s Nano Banana, can create synthetic reference photos from text prompts or fix problematic portraits—like non-neutral expressions—before head generation, further reducing prep work. Meanwhile, Adonis’s AdnTransfer system and new AdnMush deformer cut down the tedious work of transferring anatomy between characters and cleaning up artifacts.
