Agentic Advertising Platforms: From Point Tools to Autonomous Stacks
An agentic advertising platform is a unified, AI-driven system in which specialised software agents autonomously handle audience planning, media buying, optimisation and measurement across digital and linear channels, coordinating with each other to manage end-to-end campaigns with minimal human intervention while still operating under clear rules, security controls and performance goals set by advertisers and media owners. Major media companies are moving from isolated AI tools toward these end-to-end ad tech environments. Instead of adding one more optimiser or planning feature, they are rebuilding the full workflow so autonomous ad optimisation, AI media planning automation and measurement sit on a single, coherent stack. This shift changes their role in the market: they are no longer only selling inventory, but also offering infrastructure for agentic AI. FOX Advertising, Yahoo DSP and Warner Bros. Discovery now see agentic platforms as a way to lock in advertiser relationships while standardising how campaigns are planned, executed and assessed.
FOX AdStudio: A Secure End-to-End Agentic Advertising Platform
FOX Advertising is turning its FOX AdStudio data and technology stack into what it calls the industry’s first end-to-end agentic advertising platform. The company is embedding agents across audience planning, media transactions and activation so agencies can move from audience insights to order fulfilment and campaign execution inside one system spanning linear and digital media. According to FOX Advertising, the new agent-to-agent workflows sit on a security and governance-first protocol designed to support “real, trusted applications at scale.” Partnerships are central to this strategy. WPP and Horizon Media are working on agentic audience planning, linking their planning environments directly to FOX AdStudio. Universal Ads by Comcast is adding AI-assisted digital transaction workflows, while Simulmedia focuses on automated linear spot buying. The result is an agentic advertising platform that reduces friction between planning and buying and gives brands consistent access to FOX’s premium inventory and audiences.
Yahoo DSP’s Agent Network: Open, Interoperable AI Media Planning Automation
Yahoo DSP is taking a different route with its Agent Network, an open framework that connects advertisers to AI-powered agents built by external technology partners. Rather than rely only on native agents, Yahoo DSP lets advertisers plug in specialised tools for every stage of the media buying workflow while keeping everything inside one governed environment. Adam Roodman, GM of Yahoo DSP, said, “Agentic AI should make advertising simpler, not harder, and that starts with openness.” The Agent Network extends the DSP’s broader agentic strategy and its “Yours, Mine, and Ours” model, where brands can bring their own AI, use Yahoo’s agents or combine both through open MCPs and APIs. This approach turns Yahoo DSP into infrastructure for agentic advertising, aligning with the trend toward autonomous ad optimisation, but preserving flexibility so marketers can align agents with their existing stack, identity solutions and measurement frameworks.
Warner Bros. Discovery and AWS: Unified Planning, Optimisation and Measurement
Warner Bros. Discovery is rebuilding its advertising technology stack on Amazon Web Services with an agentic AI-native architecture. The company is moving long-standing internal workflows for its premium linear and digital inventory onto a single platform, aiming to unify planning, activation, optimisation and monetisation. Dr. Nage Sethu of Warner Bros. Discovery describes this as “the next frontier of advertising where convergence brings linear and digital together on a single platform.” The new system uses autonomous agents for intelligent media planning, dynamic forecasting, continuous autonomous ad optimisation and closed-loop measurement. Initial launches include agentic automation for direct response and commercial workflows, advanced audience forecasting and enhanced measurement and attribution, with unified media planning and composable order management and pricing scheduled to follow. Built on composable data and interoperable services, this end-to-end ad tech design lets advertisers allocate budgets across brands and channels more effectively and experiment with interactive formats while preserving consistent reporting.
From Media Sellers to Agentic Advertising Infrastructure Providers
Taken together, these initiatives mark a structural shift in digital advertising. FOX AdStudio’s agentic system, Yahoo DSP’s Agent Network and Warner Bros. Discovery’s AWS-based stack show media owners moving beyond point solutions to full end-to-end ad tech built around agents. Instead of buying only impressions, advertisers increasingly plug into agentic advertising platforms that offer AI media planning automation, autonomous optimisation and standardised measurement inside controlled ecosystems. This repositions large media companies as infrastructure providers for agentic advertising. Their platforms promise interoperable agents, security, governance and access to premium content in one place. At the same time, openness – in the form of APIs, partner-built agents and composable components – matters because brands want to connect their own data, identity and analytics. As these stacks mature, competition may centre less on isolated features and more on which platform’s autonomous workflows offer the most reliable performance and transparency.
