From Omnitrix Teasers to a Fully-Fledged Fortnite Ben 10 Collab

After months of leaks and wishlists, the Fortnite Ben 10 collab has finally gone from rumor to reality. Epic first confirmed the crossover with a brief Omnitrix-focused teaser on April 22, showing Ben Tennyson’s hand, the Ultimatrix and two alien silhouettes without revealing any full character models. That clip immediately sparked speculation about Fortnite alien transformations, with fans hoping for a Mythic Omnitrix that would change gameplay, not just cosmetics. The official rollout answered some questions while raising new ones. The Fortnite x Ben 10 collaboration went live in the Item Shop on April 24 at 8 PM ET, delivering Ben and Gwen-themed content rooted in the Ultimate Alien/Alien Force era. What players actually received is more conservative than the hype suggested: a tight bundle of skins and transformation styles rather than a full-blown gameplay system built around the Omnitrix.

Ben and Gwen Outfits: Ultimate Alien Designs with Fortnite Flair

The core of the collab is a set of Ben 10 Fortnite skins led by Ben Tennyson himself. Epic’s model uses the franchise’s older teen look, heavily inspired by Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, and rendered in Fortnite’s cel-shaded style. Ben sports his signature green jacket with the Ultimatrix strapped to his wrist, matching the version highlighted in early teasers. This design sidesteps hitbox issues that would come with his original child form while keeping the character instantly recognizable. Gwen Tennyson joins him as a separate playable skin, also based on her later-series appearance. The reveal trailer shows Gwen alongside Ben and confirms that she has her own set of cosmetics, including themed back blings and emotes. The trailer also teases her Anodite form as a transformation-style variant, giving long-time fans a deep-cut reference while keeping her core silhouette Fortnite-friendly.

Heatblast and Alien X: Cool Transformations, Surprisingly Small Roster

The headline feature for many fans was the promise of Fortnite alien transformations tied to the Omnitrix. Early teasers showed the device cycling through forms before flashing Heatblast and what appeared to be Alien X, fueling hopes that a broad selection of aliens would be playable. Now that the collab is live, the surprise is how limited that roster actually is. As of the reveal trailer, only Heatblast and Alien X are confirmed aliens available through Ben’s transformation styles. For a series famous for “10 or more” forms, two options feel modest, especially when many humanoid aliens like Diamondhead, Jetray or Swampfire could theoretically work with Fortnite’s standard hitboxes. Epic’s choices at least cover both the original Ben 10 and Alien Force eras, but the current lineup falls short of the full Omnitrix fantasy many players imagined.

Cosmetic Transformations, Not Mythic Powers—At Least for Now

Despite heavy speculation, the Omnitrix is not behaving like a Mythic item or map-wide gameplay system so far. Everything shown officially frames transformations as cosmetic styles tied to the Ben 10 Fortnite skins, not as lootable abilities in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2. Heatblast, Alien X and Gwen’s Anodite form appear as alternate looks rather than separate, stats-changing characters. Current information from teasers and coverage suggests that activating the Omnitrix in Fortnite triggers visual changes—swapping Ben into one of his alien forms—with no confirmed gameplay buffs beyond aesthetics and emote interactions. That does leave the door open for Epic to add a Mythic Omnitrix or limited-time mode later in the season, but nothing in the reveal trailer or official hints indicates combat-altering powers yet. For now, the Omnitrix sits firmly in the realm of style, not meta-defining mechanics.

Bundles, Wildmutt Kicks and What Might Come Next

All Ben 10 items are distributed through the Fortnite Item Shop, with the collaboration going live on April 24 at 8 PM ET during the standard reset. Players can expect Ben and Gwen outfits to be available individually as well as in at least one themed bundle that groups skins, back blings, emotes and other cosmetics. Wildmutt-inspired Fortnite Kicks are also part of the collab, adding a fun nod to the original series’ bestial alien. Looking ahead, Epic’s cautious approach—only two aliens at launch—may signal a phased rollout. Ben 10 has a deep roster of humanoid aliens that fit Fortnite’s silhouette, and coverage has already speculated that more forms could arrive if the initial drop performs well. Given Epic’s history of expanding popular crossovers with extra styles and follow-up waves, additional aliens or Omnitrix variants feel more likely than a one-and-done release.
