From ERP Copilot to Autonomous CX Platform
SAP Joule AI copilot is a generative AI assistant embedded across SAP cloud applications that lets enterprise users query live data and automate tasks in natural language, turning complex ERP and CX operations into conversational, guided workflows connected to real-time business systems. Born inside SAP’s Business AI strategy, Joule does not sit as a separate app; it runs across S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and Customer Experience products. Users can ask questions such as “What is driving service backlogs for our top accounts?” and receive contextual insights instead of browsing dashboards or reports. According to SAP, nearly 80% of the most-used business tasks can be supported by Joule, which shifts ERP usage from expert-driven transactions to guided, AI-first interactions. With Joule now tied to customer experience workflows and Autonomous CX, that same conversational model extends from back office to front line.
Joule in SAP for Me: A New Front Door for Enterprise ERP Automation
Embedding SAP Joule AI copilot inside SAP for Me turns one of SAP’s most used customer portals into a conversational control center for enterprise ERP automation. Instead of clicking through menus, users describe what they want to achieve: resolve a support issue, find adoption insights, or check system health. Joule provides effortless navigation across the portal, fast access to relevant information, and advanced self-service with guided support. Corinne Reisert, VP for Customer Support Experience SAP for Me, says Joule can “guide users conversationally to the right outcome—no searching, no guesswork.” Behind the scenes, AI-powered agentic case resolution analyzes new support cases, detects duplicates, suggests routing, and drafts responses, helping reduce manual triage and resolution effort. This moves SAP for Me from a static information hub to an active assistant that turns user intent into actions across support and product engagement.

Autonomous CX: Joule Assistants Orchestrate Customer Workflows on Live Data
SAP’s Autonomous CX platform connects SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP CPQ, SAP Service Cloud, SAP Field Service, SAP Engagement Cloud, and SAP Cloud ERP on a shared data foundation, with Joule Assistants orchestrating customer experience workflows on that live operational data. In Q2, the first general availability wave introduced assistants for shopping, merchandising, sales, deal qualification, self-service, and case management, with more planned for campaigns, content, deal closing, order lifecycle, and service management. These generative AI assistants coordinate multi-step actions that span sales, service, and commerce without users needing technical expertise. For example, a sales leader can ask for at-risk opportunities with shipping issues; Joule pulls from ERP and CX data, then proposes actions in context. This makes customer experience workflows an extension of ERP rather than a disconnected layer, turning intent into coordinated, cross-application execution.

Ecosystem Partnerships Connect Conversations to Live ERP Data
SAP is expanding Joule’s reach through an ecosystem that links generative AI assistants to live ERP data and external experience channels. Its deeper partnership with Parloa brings AI agents into SAP Service Cloud, so customer conversations in voice or chat can trigger actions against SAP business data through to resolution. Parloa is now available via SAP Store and is on track to become an SAP Endorsed App, giving organizations a structured path to deploy agentic service scenarios. Partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Vercel extend Autonomous CX toward conversational commerce, AI-driven search, multimodal interactions, and composable digital experiences. Joule Agents and Joule Assistants can use data from SAP and third-party systems, which means customer experience workflows can span marketing, commerce, and service while staying grounded in accurate ERP information such as orders, pricing, and inventory.
What Changes for Customer Experience and Operations Leaders
The Joule expansion changes how enterprises think about customer experience workflows and enterprise ERP automation. Instead of designing rigid processes inside separate CX tools, teams can define outcomes in plain language and have Joule coordinate the underlying steps across CRM, commerce, service, and ERP. Joule in SAP for Me gives a unified, AI-powered entry point to support, insights, and guided actions, while Autonomous CX provides role-specific assistants for frontline teams. For operations leaders, the shift is from training people to master transaction codes to teaching them how to ask better questions and validate AI-recommended actions. As Parloa and hyperscaler partners add domain-specific capabilities on top of SAP’s data foundation, Joule starts to look less like a helper bot and more like the orchestration brain of an autonomous CX platform built on live operational data.
