The latest leaks make one thing clear: Poco is gambling that speed and specs will matter more than raw battery size. Both phones are expected to run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with up to 16GB of RAM, pushing them firmly into flagship territory. At the same time, their batteries are smaller than the Redmi K100 Pro duo they are based on, even though charging remains at 100W. This is not an all-rounder strategy; it is a “performance-first, plug-in-often” philosophy aimed at users who care more about frames per second than hours away from a charger.
Design and Displays: High Refresh Ambition
On paper, the Poco F9 displays are unapologetically tuned for spec-chasers. In contrast, the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max they are based on reach up to 8,850mAh and 9,070mAh respectively, making the Poco versions clear downgrades on sheer capacity.
The trade-off is straightforward: slimmer, lighter hardware and the reassurance of 100W fast charging. For heavy users, that will feel like a step sideways, not forward, relative to the Redmi models. The logic only works if charging is always within reach and if software optimisation plus the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s efficiency offset some of the lost milliamp-hours. If you value screen-on time above all, this compromise will be hard to forgive, no matter how quick the top-up.
