Deal verdict: Pixel Care Plus is worth it if you depend on your phone
Pixel Care Plus enrollment is a limited-time protection plan window for Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 phones that adds accidental damage protection, $0 battery and screen repairs, and optional loss and theft coverage for eligible devices when purchased through Google’s official channels. This reopened enrollment is the deal: if you own a Pixel 9 or 10 series phone and skipped coverage at purchase, you now have a rare second chance to get full Pixel Care Plus protection long after the usual 60-day cutoff. There is no discount or price drop here, but the value lies in access itself—Google normally does not let you sign up this late. For anyone who worries about cracked screens or fading batteries over the next few years, this is a strong offer and, for most owners, worth taking.

How the reopened Pixel Care Plus enrollment works
The Pixel Care Plus enrollment window runs from July 13 through August 2, giving existing Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series owners a second shot at protection beyond the standard 60-day limit. You can add the plan through the Google Store online or the My Pixel app, as long as your phone is in good working condition—fully functional and free from cracks, mechanical defects, or liquid damage. Eligible phones include Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9a, 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10a, all of which now qualify for Pixel Care Plus enrollment despite the normal deadline. One quotable line from the announcement sums up the deal: “Existing Pixel 9 and 10 series owners have a limited-time opportunity to add device protection with Pixel Care+.”
What Pixel Care Plus coverage actually gives you
Pixel Care Plus is designed to cover the most expensive repairs your Pixel is likely to need over time. The plan includes unlimited accidental damage protection, covering drops, cracks, and spills that can wreck your front screen or back glass. It also offers $0 screen repairs and $0 battery replacements for eligible batteries that have fallen below 80% of their original capacity, turning common wear-and-tear issues into routine service instead of major expenses. You can optionally add loss and theft coverage, which allows up to two replacement devices every rolling 12-month period under that plan’s terms. According to Google, the reopened Pixel Care Plus enrollment “covers accidental damage from drops, cracks, and spills, while also offering $0 front screen and back glass repairs and $0 battery replacements for batteries that have fallen below 80% of their original capacity.”
Who qualifies—and who is left out
Not every Pixel owner can take advantage of this Pixel Care Plus enrollment window. Eligible models are Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, all of which can now be enrolled beyond the typical 60-day limit if they are in good condition and linked to the owner’s Google account before July 13. Some Pixel devices are not eligible: the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Pixel 10 Pro Fold still have to be enrolled within 60 days of purchase and are excluded from this reopened offer. Devices already covered by Pixel Care Plus, Preferred Care, or Google Fi Device Protection also cannot be added again under this promotion. If your phone already has protection, or if it is damaged right now, this deal will not apply to you.
Buy if / Skip if
- Buy the Pixel Care Plus plan if you own an eligible Pixel 9 or Pixel 10 model and missed the original 60-day enrollment window but still want strong accidental damage protection.
- Skip the Pixel Care Plus plan if your Pixel 9 or Pixel 10 is already covered by Pixel Care Plus, Preferred Care, or Google Fi Device Protection, since this promotion will not apply to you.
- Buy the Pixel Care Plus plan if you rely heavily on your phone and want $0 battery and screen repairs to avoid paying out-of-pocket for common wear or accidental damage.
- Skip the Pixel Care Plus plan if you own a Pixel 9 Pro Fold or Pixel 10 Pro Fold, because these foldable models are excluded from the reopened enrollment and must follow the standard 60-day rule.
