Anthropic Turns Claude into a First-Class Citizen in the Security Stack
Anthropic is closing a critical gap in enterprise AI governance with 28 new security and compliance integrations for Claude Enterprise and the Claude Platform. Instead of treating AI as a black box, IT and security teams can now manage Claude like any other core application, plugging it into existing controls for monitoring, alerting, and compliance. At the center of this move is the Claude Compliance API, which exposes two key data streams: conversation content from Claude Enterprise—such as chats, uploaded files, and projects—and detailed activity events, including logins, admin changes, and configuration updates. Security platforms can use this data for real-time oversight, continuous policy enforcement, and automated response. By aligning Claude usage with established tools across DLP, SIEM, SASE, identity management, and observability, Anthropic is transforming AI from a governance risk into a manageable part of the enterprise security fabric.
Inside the Claude Compliance API: From Static Reviews to Continuous Governance
The Claude Compliance API gives enterprises programmatic access to rich telemetry about how Claude is used, enabling continuous enterprise AI governance instead of sporadic manual checks. Conversation content from Claude Enterprise lets organizations apply existing data loss prevention, monitoring, and data governance policies to chats and shared files, reducing the risk of sensitive information leaking through AI interactions. Activity events from both Claude Enterprise and the Claude Platform go further, surfacing user logins, administrative operations, and configuration changes. Security tools can ingest this stream to detect unusual behavior, audit changes, and flag misconfigurations at scale. As Netskope notes, the REST-based Claude Compliance API replaces periodic exports with real-time access to Claude usage data and customer content. That shift allows enterprises to build automated security workflows that continuously enforce policies as AI adoption accelerates across teams and applications.
Varonis Integration: Data-Centric Insight into Claude Usage and AI Agents
Varonis is extending its Atlas AI Security Platform with a deep integration to the Claude Compliance API, bringing Claude Enterprise and Claude Platform events into a data-centric security view. For Claude Enterprise, Atlas ingests conversational content and administrative events to let governance teams monitor chats, uploaded files, and projects, detect anomalies in real time, and maintain detailed audit records. For the Claude Platform, which powers AI-enabled products and agents, Atlas monitors how assistants and agents behave, retaining audit events and surfacing risky activity. It can also stress-test agents for vulnerabilities such as prompt injection. Crucially, Atlas ties Claude activity to underlying data context—what is sensitive, who can access it, and whether that access is appropriate. This approach helps organizations treat every AI system as a direct path to corporate data, providing the visibility and controls needed to mitigate misuse at machine speed.
SailPoint Integration: Extending Identity Security to Human and AI Identities
SailPoint’s new connector for the Claude Compliance API brings enterprise-grade identity security to Claude Enterprise, strengthening identity management AI capabilities. By integrating Claude into the SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, organizations gain centralized visibility over Claude users, groups, group memberships, and roles, allowing them to apply consistent governance policies alongside other critical applications and datastores. The integration also tackles a growing issue: non-human identities. SailPoint can discover and govern Claude AI agents within its single agent registry, helping reduce the risk of "Shadow AI" where tools operate outside IT oversight. With adaptive identity, SailPoint uses contextual, AI-powered understanding of who is accessing what, when, and why to secure access to Claude from a central control point. This risk-adaptive approach brings the same rigor to AI platform access that enterprises expect for traditional systems, turning AI usage into a governed part of the identity landscape.
A Broad Ecosystem of Security Integrations for Enterprise AI Governance
Beyond Varonis and SailPoint, Anthropic’s 28 security integrations create a broad ecosystem for enterprise AI governance around Claude. The Claude Compliance API now feeds data into tools across DLP, SASE, data security, SIEM, security operations, identity management, eDiscovery, AI security posture management, and observability. New integrations span providers such as Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, Datadog, Microsoft Purview, Netskope, Okta, Palo Alto Networks, Proofpoint, ReliaQuest, Rubrik, Smarsh, Sumo Logic, Tenable, Trellix, Wiz, Zscaler, and others. This means organizations can manage Claude access, usage auditing, and policy enforcement using platforms they already trust, rather than building bespoke controls. As AI systems become pervasive in workflows and development pipelines, these security integrations allow enterprises to scale governance, monitor for misuse, and embed compliance checks directly into their existing operational and security processes.
