Xero has launched a live integration with Anthropic’s Claude that connects its cloud accounting platform to a conversational AI assistant. Instead of exporting spreadsheets or logging into separate dashboards, small businesses and their advisers can now access live financial data from within the tools they already use. Active Xero subscribers can ask Claude about cash position, overdue invoices, and profit trends, then follow links straight back into Xero to inspect reports, contact records, or individual invoices in detail. The integration is rolling out across Xero’s global subscriber base and is designed to keep accountants, bookkeepers, and finance teams inside a single workflow. By embedding AI capabilities into the accounting environment, Xero is positioning its financial data as the real-time backbone for operational conversations and strategic planning, rather than a static record that must be manually retrieved and interpreted.

Live Financial Data Query Without Context Switching

The Xero Claude integration focuses on reducing context switching for accountants and finance teams who constantly toggle between reports, emails, and analytics tools. Users can ask natural language questions such as whether profit is rising or falling, which customers generate the most revenue, or which invoices remain unpaid, and receive answers based on live Xero data. Because the information is pulled directly from the accounting system, there is no need to rely on outdated file exports or manually refreshed dashboards. Each response can include a pathway back into Xero for follow-up actions like reviewing a full profit and loss report or drilling into a customer’s receivable history.
