Vivo S60 Series: Dual-Model Strategy Built Around Display and Battery
The Vivo S60 series is a two-phone mid-range lineup built around a 144Hz AMOLED display, a 7,200mAh battery, and a 50MP selfie camera, offering buyers a choice between higher-end Snapdragon power or a cheaper Dimensity option without sacrificing screen or battery capabilities. Vivo is positioning the standard S60 as the more premium device and the S60 Vitality Edition as a cost-conscious alternative that keeps most of the core hardware. Both models share a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel, 90W wired charging, IP68 and IP69 protection, and a cold-carved glass design. According to My Mobile India, "Vivo S60 price starts at CNY 3,599 while the Vitality Edition begins at CNY 2,899," underscoring the brand’s intent to cover both budget-aware and performance-oriented segments with one coordinated release launching on June 3.

Display, Design and Durability: 144Hz AMOLED at the Center
A 144Hz AMOLED display is the headline feature in the Vivo S60 specs sheet, and it carries over unchanged to the S60 Vitality Edition. Both phones use a 6.59-inch flat 1.5K panel with a 1,260 x 2,750 resolution, HDR support, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and 1.07 billion colors, promising a colorful and smooth viewing experience. The 300Hz touch sampling rate targets gamers and fast typers, while the 459ppi density keeps text and UI elements sharp. Design-wise, Vivo’s cold-carved glass back and metal frame give the S60 series a more premium feel than the price might suggest, with color options including Early Summer Green, Midsummer Night’s Dream (or Midsummer Night), and Starry Sea/Sea of Stars finishes. Both devices also carry IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning they are built to resist dust and high-pressure water exposure better than typical mid-range phones.

Battery and Charging: 7,200mAh Capacity With 90W Fast Charging
Battery life is another defining pillar of the S60 series, with both the standard S60 and the S60 Vitality Edition using the same large 7,200mAh battery. This capacity is substantial even by mid-range standards and should comfortably cover extended gaming sessions, long social media use, or a full day of 4K content capture for creators. The phones include 90W wired fast charging over USB-C, allowing users to top up the battery far more quickly than with typical 30W–45W systems. Gizmochina notes that both models also bring stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and infrared remote functionality, improving everyday multimedia use and control of home devices. Despite the large battery, weight stays manageable: around 207 grams for the S60 and roughly 199 grams for the Vitality Edition, meaning users do not have to accept an extremely bulky chassis to gain multi-day endurance.
Processor Options and Camera Systems: Snapdragon vs Dimensity
Under the hood, Vivo is giving buyers a clear performance choice. The standard S60 uses Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 with a 3GHz prime core, four 2.8GHz performance cores, three 2GHz efficiency cores, and an Adreno 735 GPU. The S60 Vitality Edition instead adopts MediaTek’s 4nm Dimensity 7500 Full Power chip, with four 2.6GHz performance cores, four 2GHz efficiency cores, and a Mali-G625 GPU. Both support up to 12GB–16GB of RAM and as much as 512GB of storage depending on configuration, covering heavy multitasking and local media. Camera hardware differentiates the models more sharply. The S60 has a triple rear setup with a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide, and 50MP IMX882 periscope telephoto with 3x optical and up to 100x digital zoom, while the Vitality Edition keeps only the 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide, dropping the periscope module.
50MP Selfie Camera and 4K Live Tools for Creators
Both S60 models target content creators with a 50MP selfie camera capable of 4K video capture, backed by Vivo’s growing set of Live imaging tools. On the rear, the S60’s 50MP main sensor with OIS, 8MP ultra-wide, and 50MP periscope telephoto offer flexibility for everything from landscapes to distant subjects, while the Vitality Edition still covers standard and ultra-wide framing for social content. Gizmochina highlights several AI-assisted modes, including Cool White Portrait, customizable Live color grading, and a Starlight Live effect that adds animated sparkle-style highlights to bright areas in photos and videos. A 3D Spatial Visual Effects feature can turn Live Photos into glasses-free 3D-style images by using motion effects when the phone is tilted. The series runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6 and goes on sale from June 3 through Vivo’s online store, with no international rollout confirmed yet.
