By acquiring AI consulting firm Tomoro, OpenAI gains a team of around 150 Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) who have already worked with brands such as Mattel, Tesco, Red Bull, and Virgin Atlantic. The company’s stated goal is to help enterprises build AI systems they can rely on every day, moving beyond pilots and proofs of concept into production-grade deployments that support critical business operations and long-term transformation.
Embedding Forward Deployed Engineers Inside Enterprise Workflows
