Tesla’s Terafab project is a bold attempt to vertically integrate AI robot hardware, from chip design to manufacturing. Elon Musk has outlined plans for an advanced artificial-intelligence chip complex in Texas that will use Intel’s next-generation 14A manufacturing process. The vision is for two major fabs: one providing Tesla AI chips for vehicles and Optimus humanoid robots, and another aimed at AI data centers in space.
