After a long beta phase, One UI 8.5 has now been released to at least 44 confirmed Galaxy devices across the Galaxy S, Z, Tab and A lineups, plus several M, F and XCover models. Yet what you get depends heavily on which device you own. Some phones are only now receiving Priority Notifications and File Summaries, while others still lack Now Nudge and new camera controls, leaving owners guessing about what will arrive next and when.

June Updates: Priority Notifications and File Summaries Arrive

The June One UI 8.5 update is the first real catch-up moment for older flagships in the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7. Samsung’s roughly 900MB June package for the S25 family adds three long-promised Galaxy AI features: Prioritize Notifications, Summarize Notifications and File Summaries. The same update line brings Priority Notifications and File Summaries to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, closing part of the gap with the Galaxy S26. According to Android Authority, the rollout began in Samsung’s home market on June 11 and is expected to expand globally over the following days. These tools run fully on-device and support a wide list of system languages, from English and Spanish to Korean and Vietnamese. However, summaries and prioritization only work when app notifications match the phone’s system language, a limitation that may frustrate multilingual users who mix languages across apps and settings.

One UI 8.5 Is on 44+ Devices, But Features Are Fragmented

Samsung has now pushed the stable One UI 8.5 update to every one of the 44 devices it previously confirmed, including the Galaxy S25, S24 and S23 families, multiple Galaxy Z foldables, recent Galaxy Tabs and key Galaxy A models. It has also extended the update to extra mid-range and budget phones such as the Galaxy A06, M56 and XCover 7 Pro, bringing them into the Galaxy AI era sooner than many expected. Yet this broad coverage hides a fragmented reality: the same One UI 8.5 version can mean very different feature sets. Premium devices like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Z Fold 7 get notification intelligence and some camera upgrades, while cheaper A-, M- and F-series phones often receive only core interface changes and security patches. Owners can see the One UI 8.5 label in Settings but miss the flagship AI tricks highlighted in Samsung’s marketing.

What Older Phones Still Miss from the Galaxy S26

Even after June’s patches, several headline Galaxy AI features remain tied to the Galaxy S26 series. The most obvious omission is Now Nudge, the context-aware assistant that reads on-screen content and surfaces actions in the Samsung Keyboard toolbar. As TechCabal notes, “As of June 2026, Now Nudge is only available on the Galaxy S26 series.” Camera upgrades show similar gaps. The S26 Ultra offers a 24MP AI Fusion shooting mode between 12MP and 200MP, Video softening with Off/Medium/High levels, extra autofocus controls and 8K recording via Smart View or HDMI. Those options still do not appear on the Galaxy S25 Ultra despite running the same Camera Assistant version. Even simpler tools like the fingerprint accuracy booster appear inconsistently: it has reached the Galaxy S25 FE and Z Fold 7, but not every S25 model, underscoring how arbitrary the rollout can feel.

Staggered, Region-Based Rollout Keeps Users Guessing

On paper, One UI 8.5 is now widely available, but the real-world experience depends on where you live and which Galaxy you own. Samsung’s updates usually start in its home market before expanding to other regions in waves, and that pattern holds for both the S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7 June updates. Android Authority reports that the Fold 7’s new Galaxy AI features are live in the first wave, with other markets expected “soon,” but without firm timelines. This batch-style rollout means two users with the same phone can have different capabilities for weeks. Add in device-level feature gating—such as Now Nudge and S26-only camera tools—and the result is confusion. Many Galaxy owners are left checking Software update menus and reading changelogs line by line to see whether Galaxy AI features have arrived, partially arrived, or are still missing.
