Siemens positions Intelligence Center X as its latest AI software for enterprise manufacturing environments, turning this shared data layer into industrial AI solutions that can be deployed and managed across operations instead of staying locked in isolated pilots.

From Fragmented Signals to Unified Data Infrastructure

Most factories still run on fragmented data scattered across PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial protocols, MES platforms, and enterprise applications, which slows down manufacturing AI scale. The Siemens–HighByte partnership tackles this by running HighByte Intelligence Hub natively on Siemens Industrial Edge, where it connects through the Connectivity Suite to a wide range of OT data sources while also linking into IT systems. HighByte provides industrial DataOps functions—data modeling, orchestration, and governance—so that data from both domains flows into a unified data infrastructure instead of remaining in isolated silos. According to Siemens, “By bringing together Industrial Edge’s OT connectivity with HighByte’s DataOps capabilities and Intelligence Center X, we bridge the gap between shop floor operations and IT systems.” This shared layer becomes the standard feed for AI workloads, reducing custom integration work for every new project.

Contextualized Industrial Data for AI at the Edge

The combined platform centers on industrial edge computing, where data is processed close to machines before it goes to cloud or enterprise AI systems. HighByte Intelligence Hub applies transformation rules to raw signals, turning tags, alarms, and sensor readings into contextualized information that includes units, equipment relationships, and business meaning. These contextualized datasets are then pipelined in a scalable way to IT services and Siemens Intelligence Center X for model training, inference, and monitoring. HighByte also acts as a Unified Namespace provider, standardizing how applications access and reuse industrial data across plants and departments. Bidirectional data flows enable secure write-back from IT, so MES or other systems can adjust machine setpoints through Industrial Edge’s Connectivity Suite. This closes the loop from AI insight to automated action, which is essential for reliable industrial data operations and closed-loop AI control.

By turning plant data into standardized products, Siemens and HighByte aim to make manufacturing AI scale less dependent on scarce OT experts. Vivix Vidros Planos Shows the Stack in Action

Glass producer Vivix Vidros Planos offers an early look at how the Siemens–HighByte stack works in a real plant. The company has used Siemens Industrial Edge, HighByte Intelligence Hub, and Intelligence Center X to digitalize its core production process with around 30 industrial applications. One highlighted use case is a smart application for predicting and preventing degradation of a highly valuable glass furnace, helping extend its utilization and economic lifetime. Vivix reports that HighByte on Industrial Edge feeds “highly contextualized industrial data into Intelligence Center X,” so developers can build industrial AI models, agents, and applications quickly, with minimal support from a limited pool of OT experts. The example shows how a unified data infrastructure, combined with industrial edge computing and centralized AI software, can turn complex, asset-intensive operations into a platform for continuous AI-driven improvement.
