This leap from a USD 10.2 billion valuation reported in September 2025 to USD 26 billion in under a year signals a sharp reset in how investors value AI developer tools. Cognition reports that Devin’s annualized revenue run rate has grown to about USD 492 million (approx. RM2.26 billion) after a six‑month stretch of roughly 50% month‑over‑month corporate growth. That Devin revenue run rate gives investors a clearer signal that enterprises are paying real budgets for an AI coding agent that performs sustained work. Enterprise usage has increased more than tenfold since the start of 2026, and Cognition says Devin was already operating inside thousands of companies by 2025. Customers now include large organizations such as Citi, Mercedes-Benz, Goldman Sachs, Dell Technologies, Santander, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Navy, alongside fast-growing startups like Exa, Modal, Eight Sleep, and OpenRouter. Cognition reports that Mercedes-Benz cut a legacy modernization project from eight months to eight days with Devin, a time compression that would be difficult to ignore in any CIO dashboard. Systems integrators such as Infosys and Cognizant have integrated Devin into delivery workflows, while Itaú Unibanco now fixes 70% of security vulnerabilities automatically through the agent. Internally, Cognition says 89% of code committed by its engineers is now committed by Devin, with the rest coming from local agents in Windsurf. Together, these figures support Cognition’s view that software development is shifting toward a “self-driving” model, where human engineers structure problems and AI agents execute most of the implementation, testing, and maintenance steps.

Cognition positions itself as an independent agent lab that works closely with foundation model developers while optimizing for price-to-performance. The company evaluates models across more than 100 categories of software engineering tasks and routes work to the most suitable option, reflecting how AI coding agents are becoming vertical AI platforms tuned to specific workflows. The launch of the SWE-1.6 model, now the most-used within Windsurf with throughput up to 950 tokens per second, underlines this specialization.
